Shannon Phillips is a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She graduated with honors in 2005 with a double major in English Literature and Political Science. While in college, Shannon participated in student government and studied abroad in Urbino, Italy. She graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2008. Shannon served on the Vanderbilt Law Review as Notes Editor during law school. Shannon has been in private practice since 2008. She has represented both individual and corporate clients, and she has handled various business, breach of contract, real estate, family law, wrongful termination and employment discrimination matters. Shannon has been a member of the South Carolina state bar since 2012, and formerly practiced in Dallas, Texas, where she represented corporate and individual clients in breach of contract and tort cases. Shannon continues to practice civil litigation on behalf of both businesses and individuals, including breach of contract, personal injury, wrongful death and property cases. Shannon also practices employment law, and handles discrimination, harassment, wage payment, Family and Medical Leave Act, breach of contract, wrongful termination, on the job injuries and workers’ compensation retaliation claims. She counsels business owners on various issues, including employee policies, handbooks, agency investigations, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, severance agreements and employee terminations. |
